FAQs ABOUT USE
YOU’LL FIND LOTS OF QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS HERE ABOUT USING YOUR BEAM DEVICE
WILL THE HOT STEAM DAMAGE MY CARPETS OR UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE?
No, beam steam vacuum cleaners use a very dry steam, so there is very little residual moisture. It is similar to a sauna. For example, hot water of 90 °C would burn our skin, but we can easily tolerate 90 °C in a sauna. You can also adjust the amount of steam on all beam steam vacuum cleaners to suit the object you’re cleaning. So there’s no reason not to clean your carpets or upholstery.
DO I NEED TO VACUUM BEFORE USE?
Here’s the big difference compared to conventional steam cleaners. While you would need to vacuum before using those steam cleaners, the beam steam vacuum cleaner does everything in one step. Thanks to its integrated suction system with water filter, there is no need for a separate vacuum.
CAN I FRAGRANCE ROOMS?
Yes, by adding a few drops of scented oil to the filter tray (please only use approved scented oils).
WILL LIMESCALE BE REMOVED FROM FITTINGS?
Our devices work extremely well on lime film and light limescale residue. You should pre-treat old and extensive limescale deposits before cleaning with vinegar or a biological descaling agent.
CAN I CLEAN WOODEN WINDOW FRAMES?
You can achieve surprisingly good cleaning results if you set the amount of steam correctly and use the nozzles properly. It is important that you always have the suction activated!
CAN I ALSO USE MY STEAM VACUUM CLEANER TO CLEAN THE HOUSE FACADE AND PATHS?
No. It is best to use a high-pressure cleaner for jobs like that. However, you can use a beam steam vacuum cleaner to clean entrance steps and tiled patios.
FAQs ABOUT TECHNOLOGY
YOU’LL FIND LOTS OF QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS HERE ABOUT TECHNICAL ISSUES
DOES THE SUCTION SYSTEM OF THE BEAM STEAM VACUUM CLEANER HAVE FILTER BAGS OR IS IT A CYCLONE SYSTEM?
Neither. All beam steam vacuum cleaners are already fitted with a water filter. All the suctioned air is cleaned in the water filter and only clean air is expelled.
IS PRESSURE OF 4.5 TO 5 BAR SUFFICIENT?
Definitely for domestic use: but only if that is the actual pressure in the boiler (pressure switch). The cut-off pressure for the safety valve is often stated in the technical data for devices. This pressure, 7 or even 9 bar, is a setting on the relief valves of household appliances that has nothing to do with cleaning power. For industrial applications you should use from 6 bar upwards.
DOES LIMESCALE FORM IN THE NOZZLES?
No. From 60 °C the lime in the water falls to the bottom of the boiler as sediment. Thus, there is no lime in the expelled steam and limescale cannot form in the nozzles or in parts carrying the steam. That’s why you also won’t see any lime spots on the surfaces you’re cleaning. However, on devices with a hot water module the steam hose does need to be descaled as stated in the instructions.
DOES THE DEVICE NEED TO BE DESCALED?
Yes, regularly. As all beam models only use boilers made from INOX 18/10, you can use any standard descaling agent on them.
SHOULD I USE DISTILLED WATER?
Use normal tap water. Distilled water is not as effective for cleaning because of its pH value. For this reason, beam installs a stainless steel boiler in all its models, which is easy to descale.
HOW LONG DOES THE DEVICE TAKE TO HEAT UP?
The rapid heating system reduces heat-up time to just 3 minutes.
